I adore cats
on: November 19, 2024, 06:58:50 PM
I didn't find anything on this forum about cats, and I wanted to share my story about cats. Where I live there are a lot of stray cats. I moved here relatively old, > 30 years old and when I was young I didn't have any pets nor did I live somewhere where stray dogs or cats roamed the streets. Only wild ones, like squirrels and raccoons. But during the past several years, I've grown attached to cats. It started with one, which I was looking after, as it was sick, and eventually took in, until he died, two years later, leaving me heartbroken. Since then, I've immersed myself in rescuing stray cats in my neighbourhood, spaying, neutering, vaccinating, all at huge expense. But I am unable to do otherwise. I feel tremendous guilt when I can't catch a sick cat or when things otherwise doesn't go well. I've in other words, developed an expensive hobby. However, I feel a very strong connection to this particular species in general and not so much to a particular cat. To the cat soul in general. As individuals they can be fairly annoying as they're destructive, etc. And yes, I do believe that animals have souls. I don't know if I would've had the same connection to e.g. dogs, as there are no stray dogs in my area in order to compare with. But I do feel that cats are very sensitive, have sixth senses, and a lot of hidden abilities which we humans are unaware of. Which science is unable to investigate because they defy conventional logic. For example, stray cats which I'd never before encountered as they were obviously from a different neighbourhood, had taken refuge outside my home and when I took each one to the vet because I was concerned that something wasn't right, they were in fact very ill - but saveable. The first was obviously ill but the other two weren't. They were just "sitting there" for several days. Later on, we realized that they were all related (mother + 2 sons). One-by-one they came to my door over a span of 3 months (the second while the first was already inside so obviously they could not have communicate, even in cat language). How can that be explained by logic?
So I was wondering, what does all of this have to do with music? In music we tap into inner senses in order to create something unique and wonderful, and perhaps cats have a lot to teach us about developing our aesthetic sense.

I love cats too. I have one and he's 10 years old. I have had him since he was a kitten. He's my best bud and I wish I could take him everywhere with me.

I love cats. We currently have two at home. They're little sh!thead weirdos but I love them. They're probably siblings or half siblings but they couldn't be any more different. One is shy, high strung, cuddles a lot with the people she trusts, meows all the time, and chases her toys like a clumsy elephant. The other is cool as can be, independent, rarely meows, and acts like some kinda wriggly weird eel, and chases her toys like a highly efficient killing machine.
