Why FABE chord?
on: March 05, 2025, 07:33:51 AM
Hello!
I have attached an image of a music sheet with this post..
In the last bar, why is there a chord (F A B E) placed after D minor?
What is the name of the chord?
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

In this context of being the last chord in a piece in D minor, I would say it is a D minor chord, more specifically Dm6add9 (or Dm6/9).

Without the context, the right hand notes could also be a common jazz voicing for a G13 chord, if you just add a G bass note.

BTW, the piece looks like a fun but tricky little etude!
