Vertical & (baby?) grand piano identification
on: April 20, 2025, 03:03:58 PM
I searched for serial numbers, on both, as best as I could - found nothing.
I then (yes, after that) looked up some videos / articles/ images of serial numbers.
75% I searched in same places, found nothing.
Serial numbers / tags looked pretty big online, there's no way I missed them if they were placed in similar places or had similar size.

Hello!

Some makers can be very tricky with their serial numbers! Sometimes if the piano has been restored the numbers get sanded off or painted over which is a real shame.

I'm not sure which places you've seen to check but I'm assuming it's on the frame, soundboard?

-It's also worth check the sides of the keys (Start in the bass end), and the same with the sides of the bass hammers occasionally.

-Another is on the key blocks (past the extremities on both ends of the keyboard).

-Underneath the keys, again usually on the bass end. If you're able to remove the bottom...octave or so.

Get right in there with a torch an look closely, sometimes it was written on very faintly in pencil.

Best of luck!

If you need any more help with it, get it touch with me thepianorestorer.co.uk   and we can investigate further.
