Summer Music Choices - HELP!
on: June 10, 2025, 06:01:22 PM
Hey everyone,

After emerging from the post-exam stretch I was wondering what to play for the summer and the next season of piano - I've done quite a mixed bag of shorter pieces (5 mins-ish) and I've been looking for a longer project of the summer - any thoughts?
Here are some of the materials put forwards by my teacher:

Prokofiev Sonata 1
Prokofiev Sonata 5
Prokofiev Sonata 9
Scriabin Sonata 2
Scriabin Sonata 3
Balakirev arr. Glinka The Lark
Szymanowski Etude 3
Scriabin Deux poèmes Op 32
Prokofiev Visions Fugitives (eg Nos 8, 14, 19, 20)

I'm not quite sure as I'm not technique-gifted but I'm willing to put the effort in. I was told that part of the process of learning harder technique... well is doing it.

Please chime in what you can thanks! :)

Can you say some pieces that you have done before? Like your most advanced repertoire and your most recent?
I am currently working on:
Bach p&f in c minor wtc book 1
Beethoven op 2 no 1 first movement
Chopin Black keys etude
