Is Liszt etude 6 at my level?
on: July 21, 2025, 10:16:11 PM
Whats up yall, I am a piano student and was wondering if I was at the level to play Liszt etude 6? I have already learned pieces like Moonlight Sonata 3, Rach Preleude op. 3 no. 2 and Chopin's revolutionary etude.

S. 136, S. 137, S. 139, S. 140, or S. 141?
Should be fine for S. 136 and S. 139, IDK about S. 137 (haven't listened to it much at all), probably not for S. 141 and definitely not for S. 140.

If you are refering to liszt's transcendental etude no.6 "Vision", I think you can try to learn it.

Since you have played moonlight 3rd mvt, that implies you can play arpeggios fairly well. In vision, it is not really arpeggios as in moonlight but there are a lot of single-octave "arpeggios", so you should be able to apply a bit of that.
2026 Goal:
Bach-Busoni: Chaconne in D Minor, BWV 1004
Ravel: Gaspard de la nuit, M. 55
Scriabin: Piano Sonata No. 5, Op. 53
Stravinsky: Trois Mouvements de "Pétrouchka" / Stravinsky-Agosti: Firebird
