Repertoire

Hello.
I want to ask for a Repertoire recommendation. I got asked to play several pieces in the church. Last week I performed Sheep may safely gaze, which turned out well. Would you recommend me pieces in a similar vibe?

"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" arranged by Myra Hess.

Also, this Bach chorale prelude (Busoni or Kempff arrangement) is wonderful. Although, it may not be in the same vein as the previous recommendation or the piece you already played as it's not a totally happy piece, it sends shivers down the spine. "Ich ruf zu Dir Herr Jesu Christ" is the name and it means "I call on thee Lord Jesus Christ" BWV 639.

Here, it's being played by Dinu Lipatti, in one of the most outstanding, in my opinion, recordings of it.

Can you give more context.  Is this for a church service?  If so what parts of the service are in need of music?
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

No harm in asking, but I suspect bubblessomewhere has floated away, not to be heard of again ...
That instinct is probably why a few of us have taken the question at face value.

This is for a church service. I guess in my country it is a bit different from a traditional Catholic church service in Europe, because after the Eucharist, organists play a prayer piece, giving people time to pray. For these reasons, I am looking for a quiet and meditative piece.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31. Piano Street’s members are invited to watch the livestream. Read more
