Repertoire

Hello.
I want to ask for a Repertoire recommendation. I got asked to play several pieces in the church. Last week I performed Sheep may safely gaze, which turned out well. Would you recommend me pieces in a similar vibe?

"Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" arranged by Myra Hess.

Also, this Bach chorale prelude (Busoni or Kempff arrangement) is wonderful. Although, it may not be in the same vein as the previous recommendation or the piece you already played as it's not a totally happy piece, it sends shivers down the spine. "Ich ruf zu Dir Herr Jesu Christ" is the name and it means "I call on thee Lord Jesus Christ" BWV 639.

Here, it's being played by Dinu Lipatti, in one of the most outstanding, in my opinion, recordings of it.

Can you give more context.  Is this for a church service?  If so what parts of the service are in need of music?
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

No harm in asking, but I suspect bubblessomewhere has floated away, not to be heard of again ...
That instinct is probably why a few of us have taken the question at face value.

This is for a church service. I guess in my country it is a bit different from a traditional Catholic church service in Europe, because after the Eucharist, organists play a prayer piece, giving people time to pray. For these reasons, I am looking for a quiet and meditative piece.

One of Liszt's Consolations (maybe the first or fourth one)
Allemande from Bach French Suite in E Flat
Several Bach Preludes and Fugues would be good choice (especially the preludes), though you would want to use the quieter ones I suppose (probably not the C minor one), also several Bach inventions or sinfonias would be good choices
Chopin Prelude in B minor
Some Mendelssohn Songs Without Words would be good.

Good Arrangers of Hymns and Worship Songs (if you aren't just wanting classical): Mark Hayes, Marilynn Ham, Cindy Berry, Lloyd Larson, Faye Lopez, Larry Shackley, Mary McDonald, Jenifer Cook, Heather Sorenson

You may also look into a good transcription of a piece such as O Sacred Head Now Wounded, The Lord's Prayer, or The Holy City (Jerusalem) if the arrangement doesn't get too big.
