Piano Street Magazine:
The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

hahaha I'm desparate for gay pianists
on: March 02, 2005, 02:25:18 PM
I was just curious if there are any gay pianists on this forum from the Florida or Indiana area.  YES I AM DESPARATE.  I am a gay male pianist 18 from Florida, and I will be going to college in Indiana starting in August.  I am looking for someone in either place.  I have found it extremely hard to find other gay men interested in the same things as me, and since I am only truly interested in Piano and music it makes things alot harder.  neways, I just wanted to turn this into a dating forum hahaha just kidding, I'm just extremely desparate.  Lemme know

Dan

Maybe you should post in the Out Pianists thread? I started that thread to give lgbtq pianists a chance to talk openly on the forum - check it out.

I GUARANTEE you that there are gay pianists in both of your areas - the proportion is roughly one out of seven men is gay and one out of thirteen women is a lesbian. The proportion also seems to be slightly higher among pianists and artists in general.

Are you from the Tampa Bay area by any chance? I might be going to school there next year... strangely enough the other place I applied in the states was Indiana. oooooooh. And I'm also named Dan.  ooooooh!!

P.S. you're still young.  You've got lots of years to meet people so no need to be desperate.  :)
