Questions about Debussy’s Prelude: Ondine
on: October 22, 2025, 03:24:33 PM
Hello everyone, I need help with a section I’m struggling with in Debussy’s Prelude: Ondine. Here are my questions:
1.  In bar 16, how can I play the slurs without tension, especially for the pairs I’ve highlighted? I use fingerings 3-4, 4-5, and 5-4 for the right hand, and 3-2, 2-1, and 1-2 for the left hand. I feel particularly tense after playing these pairs.
2.  In bar 58, how can I relax my left hand immediately after playing the first pair of slurs? My fourth finger feels very tense after playing that slur, which affects my ability to play the right-hand octave in time.
Thank you so much!
