uni students unite!!!
on: March 04, 2005, 07:44:20 AM
ok all you uni students show yourselves- state your degree and year and whether you like it, and your major!
as for everyone else, if you feel rejected, then state if you have previously done a degree, or if you plan on doing one, and if not at all, then state the wonders otherwise!

starting with me woo, doing (if you didn't already know) B.Fine Arts/B.Arts, majoring in painting/drawing and music, and it's the BOMB! only a week into 2nd year and the work has already kicked in but i'm so d*mn excited!

come on people!

First year at the University of Maryland, College Park, double majoring in Piano Performance (BM) and Chemistry. I think I'll take a year or two after college to focus solely on piano, maybe travel a bit... but I'll probably end up in grad school for chemistry and end up with that as my career. Though I'd certainly love to become a concert pianist, it isn't a particularly likely outcome.  :(

The workload is too much this semester, so I'm lucky to practice two or three hours a day.  :'(

But college is better than highschool! Yay.  :)

motrax you've got such a bizarre contrast of majors, like how do you get both of them in together? is it like Bmus/Bsc? wow what a combination they should do that here

I'm at Texas A&M majoring in Mechanical Engineering, minoring... probably in Math, and getting a certificate in German.

I only get 1hr a day, but that's probably cause my major isn't music related. :-[

But college is certainly better than highschool.  MWF I don't have any classes till 12:40. 8)

I'm a second year undergraduate at the University of Adelaide, doing a BA in Psychology. I'm really enjoying it, although I find myself spending most of my study time playing the piano or listening to music.  :-\

Masters of Statistics at UNSW (having completed a Bachelor of Science at the same institution, majoring in Pure Mathematics and minoring in Applied Mathematics - hmm... I've now worked in all three departments of the School of Mathematics!)

I obtain my music education from private teachers.  I also do Chinese language studies with a private teacher.  No wonder I'm bad at maths...

I'm a fourth-year student double majoring in biology/physics and double minoring in humanities/music. I haven't taken formal lessons for quite some time, but I plan to do so after I'm done with the medical school exam. I don't have much time to practice during the week because of a tight schedule, but I try to practice at least half an hour everyday. It's such a shame that many people that I know just don't practice even though they're quite good. busy life as a college student.......it sucks!

I'm not in uni yet (next fall woot!) But I'm going to study Chemistry/music as well. I know allot of young pianists who are going into science. It's what all the cool kids are doing ;) I want to go into Dentistry or Ophthalmolgy, so I need the Chemistry (and bio and physics..) and the piano means I have excellant dexterity; so you see it's all connected!

I'm in my fourth year studying biology at our local university.  Majoring in environmental biology.

I just love it.  I was planning to do biochemistry after the first two years but had so much fun that I decided to stick with biology.
It works better if you plug it in...

Cool! Another engineer!  ;D

I'm studying engineering physics, EE option, math honours. Though it's formally an engineering degree, I consider myself more of a physicist. I have an insane courseload of 21 credits (30 hours of class a week) so I'm lucky if I get to "practice" (if one can even call it that) 2 hours a week.  :-[

oh cool good luck for your audition boliver!

it's cool how there are quite a few doing science subjects. i'd like to do physics or something as an elective but don't really have that option, so picked history and philosophy of science instead, which is really good cos we get to learn about the greek and renaissance scientists and stuff so yay to being better than just plain history!
my god soundtrk 30 hrs/w that's pretty heavy, i have a couple of friends like that doing vet science and advanced science (this girl decided she wanted to take up 3rd yr chemistry in 2nd yr i'm like dude you are crazy). and i think my 15hrs/w is bad enough! haha what a bludger i am
