pronouncing 'kije'

i figured since prokofiev's lieutenant kije is one of my most favourite pieces on the planet i should learn to pronounce the kije properly so someone please tell me how to say it thankyou! :)

'J' like ZH--something like in "Joe", but without slight 'D' in the beginning. Does it make sense?

I always figured it was said like "key-jay" but with as much Slavic accent as you can muster.

The real question is 'left-enant' or 'loo-tenant'  ;)

It is short, with emphasis on "e", which is also short.
