moving around
on: March 16, 2005, 01:51:20 PM
my teacher tells me i need to move around more when i play. not because i am not getting enough sound or for technical reasons, but she says that for performances i need to move more so i looke more relaxed (even though i already am relaxed) and because body language is part of a perfomance
but because of my reserved personality and teh nature of my musicality i find it difficult to do so. when i do try moveing around a little it feels unnatural and hampers my playing. any suggestions?

agreed.
Do what works for you.
Unnecessary movement usually causes tension.
My teacher is trying to get me to stop the movement.
