Slavicky Toccata
on: March 16, 2005, 05:50:06 PM
I'm looking for the score - "Toccata" by Slavicky.  There's is no work number or opus number.  I just heard a performance of it, and don't know anything about it and am not finding any places that have it.  Anyone know where I could find this?

Is this the work which was written especially for Organ or have i got the wrong composer, i'm completely relying on instinct.
If it is the one i am thinking of than i might be able to get a copy or find where you can get it.

I believe it is piano solo.  I heard it as an encore at a concert.  The soloist was Martin Kasik with the Prague symphony orchestra.  It is on his cd.  Perhaps the piece is from the set of Slavicky pieces(?).  I do not know if they were intended as a set or if they are stand alone pieces that he grouped together.  I checked my local music store which can usually find anything, and he couldn't find it, and said it might only be sold in Czech.

Sorry i have just realised that i was thinking of another composer and i don't recognise this piece.
I know it seems obvious but try searching 'Slavicky sheet music' on Google, or your local library.

No I think it's right as it is, Slavicky toccata - I heard it as an encore by a different Czech pianist (who incidentally was also called Martin)... I suspect it's only available in Czech.
