Poulenc - Concert Champetre - PLEASE HELP!!!!
on: March 21, 2005, 04:18:04 PM
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if any of you could help me find a recording of Poulenc's Concert Champetre transcribed for 2 pianos (instead of harpsichord and orchestra).

I have a friend who chose this concert for her exam as she particularly liked the idea that Poulenc transcribed it itself (usually the orchestra/piano transcriptions are terrible).

I would really like to find a recording of the 2 piano transcription as she was given the idea that it does in fact exist.
I tried "googling" it but couldn't find anything.
Can anyone please help?
I would really appreciate it!

Thanks, Joana

I've seen recordings on sale at Amazon.

BTW, it's extremely annoying to have people post the same question in 3 or 4 different areas of the forum.

I'm sorry for posting it in different areas, but usually people don't attend every area and there might be someone who could help at a different one.

Are you sure you saw recordings on amazon? All I can find is the harpsichord/orchestra version, not the 2 pianos one.

Thanks, Joana

Check around online.  A few of the more comprehensive stores are:

- Amazon (www.amazon.com).  Don't just settle for the US Amazon; all the international sites have different products, so if it's available in Europe and not in the US, you should also check Amazon UK (www.amazon.co.uk), or, even better, Amazon Japan (www.amazon.co.jp).  There's also France, Germany, and Canada.

- HMV (https://www.hmv.co.jp/index.asp?lang=en).  Shipping prices are high outside of Japan, but they stock a lot of rare materials that are out-of-print or unavailable anywhere else.

- Tower Records (https://www.towerrecords.com).

- eBay (https://www.ebay.com).  Doubtful they have something obscure like the two-piano version of the Poulenc, but if they do, chances are you'll get a bargain.
