Clicking Finger

Hey all,

Read a few of the topcs in here, and you seem a nice approachable lot, so I thought I'd pose a little problem I've been having, wondering if anyone could offer any help?

I've always had very bendy fingers - joints go forwards, back, all a bit freaky.  However, I've found recently that my middle left finger gets...well....stuck bent back at the second joint when playing - specifically when playing runs/scales.

Sorry - don't know if that makes any sense whatsoever - but it's very frustrating, and sometimes painful.

My prime reaction is that it's probably that I have a bad LH posture - I've always "felt" the keys too much, meaning my fingers are flatter than they probably should be.  I dunno!!  Any thoughts? :)

check with your doc..if you can..go to an orthopedic doc...but you know what..im pretty sure theres finger taping methods than can easily be learned and done to prevent over exurtion or hyperextention of finger joints to keep them from locking...maybe you should ask your doc about them..other than that...the only other alternatives is change your way of playing...or surgury to correct your joint structures...hope i was helpful
