Why is everything functioning slightly worse
on: March 24, 2005, 02:34:53 AM

Logout doesn't work properly:

I used to have to press it twice; first pressed logout, then it came with "unable to verify referring URL" or something, then I had to press again and it succesfully logged out.  Now when I press the first time and the error appears, the logout button doesn't exist anymore!

When I try to preview my post, it says "a new reply was posted while you were typing yours."  I thought the preview page had the separate POST button, but now that I pressed back on my browser and tried to post, it says "you've already posted, did you double click?" - well d'uh, no I didn't, so apparently the "preview" was interpreted as "post" (2 events backing up that theory).

Then when I've posted, I go check out the thread but my reply isn't there!  Fortunately I am able to back-back-back-back to the posting page (it was a hella long message and I certainly would'd steered a Boeing to pianoforum.net server, had it been lost).  Then I post again, and this time it appears, and I go read it.  Now I found a typo and I try to modify the message, but as I modify, all the quotes from other users that I had inserted, somehow disappear, and my post comes out as one big quote of myself, and not only that, but it makes it into a whole new reply instead of modifying the old one!

What's going on?? :o

Except for the logout issue I haven't noticed such problems. Does anyone else have any similar experiences?

i haven't had these problems - but i have problems with the links in posts: whenever i click on a link referencing another thread (you know those posts bernhard writes - a long list of references to other threads about the same topic), it always opens the main forum index. why?

It *could* be a problem with my browser, just thought I'd panicky report this behaviour just in case pianoforum.net has started degenerating by itself.

If your browser isn't Firefox, you don't deserve to be on the internet.

Yeah, most adware, spyware, and viruses are coded for IE. In fact, Microsoft purposefully leaves holes for adware and spyware because some of it is their own. Also, because IE is integrated into the Windows software, a virus or remote hacker could easily do a good deal of damage. Firefox owns.

Trust me, I've tried everything.  Opera was okay, but the banner ads tick me off and I'm not about to pay for an internet browser.  Besides, I do find Firefox to be faster and it has extremely convenient features like the bookmarking function that lets you turn any form into your own search without having to actually go to the page on which the form is located.

If your browser isn't Firefox, you don't deserve to be on the internet.

Firefox isn't the only browser around, its just the newest mozilla-derived trendy browser, which I happen to use.  I wonder if IE runs on Wine  ;D
