on: March 25, 2005, 02:31:48 PM
Hello,

I'm a bit busy with Schumann's Kreisleriana nr 3. Does anybody know where the abbreviation T.S.P. stands for, is it some kind of pedal ??

greetings, TKS

what edition do you have? i looked in my score (i have a peters), and there's only a col ped notation at the begining of this section. i think TSP refers to the middle pedal of a grand (sorry - don't know the english terms) needed to sustain the lowest note.

anyway, good luck with kreisleriana (i'm just gonna say it now cause i'm not sure how long it's gonna take this work to kill me completely :) )

The name of the middle pedal on a Grand Piano is 'The Sostenuto Pedal'... and I assume that's what TSP refers to.

Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more
