on: March 27, 2005, 10:23:14 PM
Any one know any Earl Wild song transcriptions? Just discovered them, and there's loads: Rachmaninov and Gershwin a'plenty! Brilliant writing! Hunt them down fellow brethren! ;D

where?  buy them or are there some free ones?
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

i want his transcription of Tchaikovsky's Four Swans. I heard a minute-long audio clip of him playing it and it was the shytes.

I humbly agree.  Wild's Gershwin and Rachmaninov transcriptions are wonderful.  I have the CD's and listen to them all the time.

I think that Wild's greatest transcription is the Adagio by Alessandro Marcello.  Beautiful and with absolutely perfect voicing.  When I heard him play it live, it brought tears to my eyes.

I'm going to look at that Adagio. I'm a great fan of his recordings and I'm going to see and hear him live in Amsterdam this summer. (His 90th birthday recital with all Chopin ballades... :))

Does anyone play his 'Reminiscence of Snow White' transcription? It's beautiful... I'm learning it and not doing too badly... a long way to go though

But I notice no one seems to have recorded it other than Earl Wild himself. Does anyone know of other performances/recordings?

Also, his Dance of the Four Swans & Mexican Hat Dance transcriptions??
