Never been to Houston.  Glad Hamelin is going!  Can't even imaging what he'll play - it'll be "off" the beaten path and wonderful to be sure!  Let us all know when you hear about a program!  Is doing a solo recital or playing a concerto with the Symphony?
So much music, so little time........

I figure it is solo. he is performing in the UofH annual piano festival. i could be wrong though.

It's about damn time! I've been waiting for any pianist at all to come to the Houston area, and who would it be but MAH... just aweseome.  Please keep this thread updated on any other of his Houston-related events, thanks.

Yes, I wasn't able to catch the Ax, but I wasn't aware of the others.  Though I'd probably save my money with the Lang Lang from what I've heard.

maybe, ax will perform mozart's 9th Pc later this season with the houston symphony. I haven't gotten to see him perform yet and am looking forward to it. what did you hear about LL. was it a bad performance or something?
