Metronome

I know that the metronome is a critical thing to consider to ensure coinciding with the tempo, especially in classical pieces (Mozart, Beethoven).

I have a problem that i cannot keep it up with this continuous endless line of beats so that i feel that the sound of the metronome drives me out of my concentration in playing the correct notes.

I have decided to depend on my listening sense to adjust the tempo, but of course that isn't a proper academical way.

You're not the only one ;D.
What I do is when I bump the tempo up a few notches,
I listen to the metronome for a few beats, then turn it off.
The metronome should be used cautiously, as it cannot replace
your internal pulse and timing.
You need more than a piano, two hands and a brain to play music.  You also need hot sauce.

;D  I bought the digital metronome as instructed by my previous teacher but I want to tell you I HATE IT !!! I simply have a probia listening to the endless clicking sound which disrupt in my concentration.

I know it is definitely a must to practise with a metronome and I have not solved this problem as yet  ???

When i practice with a metronome, i always use the "bell".... that rings on the first beat. It seems like i'm able to block all those ticking while practicing when I dont' need them. Usually the "rings" are enough to make sure i have the right tempo. During other times i simply block out the ticks unless I need them at certain parts of the piece.....

Now HOW i do it..... i guess listening to it for years?  >:(

yeah for me after about 30 seconds of playing with a metronome I don't hear it at all.
