The Quiet Revolutionary of the Piano – Fauré’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

In the pantheon of French music, Gabriel Fauré (1845–1924) often seems a paradox—an innovator cloaked in restraint, a Romantic by birth who shaped the contours of modern French music with quiet insistence. Piano Street now provides sheet music for his complete piano works: a body of music that resists spectacle, even as it brims with invention and brilliance. Read more

The most immediate response might be Scriabin sonata 5, but it's perhaps over played.
There are the other less played but still very good sonatas - 4 and 6 for example.

A musical descendant of Scriabin is Samuil Feinberg.  He wrote a lot of sonatas - number 3 is a masterpiece and perhaps the most played of Feinberg but still unheard of by most.  I would check them all out.

I'm glad to see Scriabin 6 mentioned, it deserves more attention than it gets. But not easy!

The Poème-Nocturne is same sound world yet more approachable:

Thank you, I haven't heard about Samuil Feinberg yet, so I'll definitely have to give his Sonata's a listen. I love Scriabin too, I feel like he's very underplayed for a composer of his talents, especially his later works.

Edit: I'll also have take a deeper dive into the Poeme-Nocturne Op. 61, very dissonant and dark, I really like it.
