Feedback on piano Kawai GX1
on: May 07, 2026, 03:15:36 AM
Hello everyone. I would like to ask for your advice. I have a new Yamaha GB1K piano with some metal whistling issues on several notes of the bass (about 10 notes). This current piano was replaced by another new one, which presented the same problem. Researching, I found that pianos of this size have this problem due to the size of the strings. I played at my local shop, an Essex piano, a Kawai GL10, and a GL20. To the three pianos I heard notes of the bass with inharmonic metal whistles. I also tried the Kawai GL30 piano which measures 166 and only noticed a few notes this same condition. I am returning my Yamaha piano and I am seriously considering buying a Kawai GX1. In my area, there are no shops that have this model to try but I guess because of the quality and size should not have any problem. I would like to ask your opinion and advice and also ask if the size will be suitable for my space which is 5 meters by 5.70 meters. One part of this space, where I will put the piano, has a height of 2.43 meters and another part of the space has a height of 4.70 meters. Thank you very much for your feedback.
