Advice on keyboards with celeste voice
on: May 22, 2026, 06:49:01 PM
Hi - another digital piano/keyboard post.  I'm starting to research options for a digital piano/keyboard that offers a good celeste voice and have good weighted keys.  The ones I've been seeing are mostly Yamaha models, and they either have the celeste voice but the keys are their basic graded hammer, or the model has the heavy weighted keys for stage performance but it doesn't come with the celeste voice.  Things are getting a little complicated with types of keyboards:
*Arranger/workstations (might be heavy to transport to rehearsals)
*Portables (key action feels toy-like)
*Stage keyboards (serious looking and with a lot of controls/tech)

I would want to be able to use the keyboard at home to explore creating my own sounds/compositions but need it also be like a real piano or celeste when needed for a concert.  Can anyone offer some tips or advice on narrowing my search?  Budget is an issue but I'm willing to spend a little more if it will be something I can get a lot out of, not just in performing but also my own music journey.
