Someone PLEASE help me!!!
on: April 08, 2005, 11:32:27 PM
I'm totally freaking out. Okay...I have an older piano. It's one that my Dad used when he was a kid. And I have to admit, I'm very, very attached to it. So about four or five months ago I noticed that my C and D keys (up one octave from middle C) weren't holding with the pedal. I immediately told my parents because it needs tuned anyways but they aren't doing anything about it. I also mentioned it to my piano instructor and she has no idea what it is. It gets worse and worse. Now my middle C and then from the A to G above that are all doing it. It's like a disease spreading through my piano. I have NO idea what to do! This was like a last resort thing. I'm getting really worried. So if anyone could PLEASE give me any advice to what I can do, e-mail me! You can do that at flameangel05@yahoo.com If it helps, I have an Acrosonic piano. Thanks to anyone that has any advice...

Press the sustain pedal and watch the dampeners (the thing resting against the strings), the ones which dont move up or down are the ones which are stuffed. You need a piano tech to open it up and fix it for you, it shouldn't be expensive. It gets expensive when the hammers stuff, and the strings, but dampeners are not that hard to fix.
