Piano industry struggles hit Steinway and Renner hard

According to reports:

- in the end of 2026 Renner closes its headquarters and modern factory in Gärtringen which was built in 2001, and keeps only the old factory in Meuselwitz:

I am not surprised - European piano builders are all in big mess except may be Bosendorfer (backed by Yamaha), Fazioli, and few boutiques. And after Renner was bought by Steinway, known as very aggressive competitor, any builder who use Renner would start looking for alternatives. The same happened when Steinway bought the plate manufacturer O.S. Kelly in 1999.
