Bumble-bee
on: April 15, 2005, 03:34:30 PM
Does anyone have a copy of the rach transcription of the bumble bee (rimsky korsakov) that they could scan and send to me? I can't find it anywhere online, and getting it here would mean ordering it from overseas.

i've found a couple of transcriptions, but theyjust don't cut it. unless you have another transcription you'd like to recommend i'll also like to have a look.

thanks
Dazzer

No offense, but if you live in Singapore, you order everything from overseas.

I found Rachmaninoff's transcription in crappy sheet music (one of those random companies that only prints such musical "gems" as Fur Elise, Liebestraume No.3, Minute Waltz, etc...ugh) for $1.50 US.  It can't be that much to import it.

I'm a strong advocate for buying music; no links or PDFs here.

yeah, but why bying stuff if you can get it for free. I mean, does it favour Chopin if you buy a book with the work of Chopin? I don t think so ;)

It may not favor Chopin (cute joke though  ::)), but it favor the publishers and encourages them to keep publishing so you have music to play from.

The czerny transcription is repulsive (searching for some other less strong word but this will have to do)... it's just a harder version of the original...
Mad about Chopin.

Piano Street Magazine:
Poems of Ecstasy – Scriabin’s Complete Piano Works Now on Piano Street

The great early 20th-century composer Alexander Scriabin left us 74 published opuses, and several unpublished manuscripts, mainly from his teenage years – when he would never go to bed without first putting a copy of Chopin’s music under his pillow. All of these scores (220 pieces in total) can now be found on Piano Street’s Scriabin page. Read more
