Of course Pocorina is lying. I almost know her personally. I reckon she was just cheesed off with you all for how mean you were to her in her politics thread or whatever it was and decided to guilt-trip you.

She's not Remy, her name is Francesca, she's 15 not 14 and she is half German, not half Japanese.

Sure she knows A LOT about TB - hell, she probably has it, but she sure ain't in any clinic in Scotland - she's never even been there! Face it - she is spinning you a yarn, and I can only say sorry on her behalf that you are all involving your congregations in this or whatever.

I am suprised she has been going this long, I would have felt far too guilty after post three! True, she is a slut and wears negligees all the time, her hair IS blonde, she IS the best pianist I know, and she does like chess and Su Doku. I suppose it is always best to weave a little of the truth into a lie. But that is exactly what this is. A lie.

I reality, it is true that she IS very often ill. Her immune system is weak, and she's always worrying she'll get TB because she was stupid enough to refuse her jab. Maybe she thinks not enough people pay attention to the constant blood tests and scans she has to have, the medicine she has to take, the coloured sticks she has to pee on, and all the doctors she has to go and see. Maybe it's not enough - so she had to invent TB on top of it all, just to add the cherry onto the icing.

But I'm just guessing here - why don't you come on and tell us the truth, FRANCESCA? I'm sure the people you have conned would want to know.

Now, I haven't seen Pocorina for at least three months in person, so I myself wasn't sure if she was at a clinic or not. She's VERY good with computers - can hack into anything, but this is where she slipped up. I traced where her posts were coming from, and it sure wasn't Scotland. She could very easily have rigged this, but I guess she was too cocky and relied on nobody checking.

Well, Francesca, you sure managed to manipulate them all - you handled the suspicion very well in your over-defensive post, but I would like to see you wriggle your way out of this one. Hadn't you better be off finding another forum to corrupt?

pocorina told me on the chat that she was lying.

she said like: ciao blew up my cover in the tb thread

I asked why she did it and she said: ah, people were annoying me.

 >:( >:( >:(

edit, they were both at the chat at the same moment tds, they can't be the same.

How many of you have been sucked into internet hoaxes like this.  You get an e-mail from a friend, that was forward to the friend, etc., etc.  This "dying child chain letter" hoax now circulating on the net victimizes the American Cancer Society. In the name of a fictitious little girl, people are exhorted to forward the letter on because each forward drops more money into the research coffers. Such an offer is hard to resist because it's a painless good deed, a way to enjoy a self-congratulatory pat on the back for "making a difference" without actually having to do anything. After all, it's being underwritten by the American Cancer Society and nameless corporate sponsors, right?

Uh, wrong. You see, there is no Jessica Mydek, and there is no such program to score up some easy cancer research money. What there is, however, is the long-suffering American Cancer Society who have been left holding the bag.

This is from a really great website  that deals with internet urban legends.  If you ever find yourself doubting the veractiy of an e-mail claim,  go there first to check.  It has saved me from embarassing myself on numerous occasions.

https://www.snopes.com/inboxer/medical/cancer.asp

This case is different, in that she is not doing a mass mailing or even asking anyone here to do anything, but as Puma points out, what a sad waste of emotional energy for a hoax.

I prefer to spend my prayers on people who really need it, like the victims of genocide in Sudan.

I take that back.  Pocarina does need your prayers - prayers that she will one day be self-confident enough to portray herself for who she really is and be proud of it.

As a newbie I'm not sure how much I should comment, but from a bystanders point of view Pocorina or whoever she is seems like an insecure attention seeker who wants to always be the centre of attention... :P  ::)

Ouch.  Ciao, are you sure this is the same person you're thinking of

Believe, me, Puma, she sure ain't in Scotland. I may not be as much of a whizz on the computer as Pocorina is, but I can check out a thing or two.

I'm guessing she wrote the thread as a joke, or maybe just to get her own back for the politic saga, and then maybe she just liked the attention. People are used to her being sick on a low-level, but I guess she wanted the shock factor. She does EVERYTHING for shock-factor. She is used to being the centre of attention and she is used to getting everything she wants. She'll be a high-flyer as anyone ever could be, but it is never good enough for her. she always wants MORE.

However in her defense I will say that although it is considered old-fashioned to go to such clinics, they do still exist and are used by the more open-minded people. It's like people with bad backs going to spars. A holiday, with all the right health thinggies to help you get better.

But hey I did a little research myself and the clinic she mentions does not exist.

You should check out www.chopinmusic.net/forum

She is conning everybody there too. Although somebody else there obviously visits this forum too, because they have posted the link *he he he he.*.....I dread to think how many other forums she has infiltrated with her lies.

well, i'm no computer genius, and yes, i've been had probably.  But, it doesn't change the fact that given an opportunity to help anyone (whether in sudan or in america) is a matter of proximity.  if i feel that i know a person well enough (i never give in to solicitations of money over the internet) and they tell me a personal problem or difficulty - i usually believe them.  many of us have been in difficult situations.  we may not be dying, but we might need a helping hand of some kind.

the other day a young man came to my door selling a newspaper (i had no interest in) and telling me that the money was going to his college fund.  i smiled at him and told him to 'get a job.'  so i am not so much the pushover on that kind of thing.  but, back in calif.  there was a homeless drunk that freqented the parking lot of a particular store and everyone treated him like garbage.  on occasion he would ask me if i wanted the windshield washed.  i usually said yes (or don't worry) and then gave him some a few of my groceries.  he was not one of those people that carry around a knife, etc. (as you can tell that kind) but he was more like a schizophrenic that was truly like a lost child out in a world that had no mercy.  he always smiled when i came around and i felt like at least a few people would treat him nice.  am sure many of you kind of know when a deed is needed vs. a scam.
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

I traced where her posts were coming from, and it sure wasn't Scotland. She could very easily have rigged this, but I guess she was too cocky and relied on nobody checking.

Do you mean you checked the IP address?  Even if the posts check out from NY, it doesn't necessarily mean she is lying - oftentimes, computers interconnect from one network to the other, so it is quite possible there is a connection from Scotland -> NY or wherever -> pianoforum (that's just an example I'm giving to illustrate a point).  Then the address might show up as NY.

well, i'm no computer genius, and yes, i've been had probably.

As a complete bystander to this story, it looks like people are playing a lot of games here. For example, I doubt very much that it is easily possible to trace where anybody's posts are originating. Only the server administrators have that type of information. Unless somebody hacks into the server, the IP addresses are all well conceiled, except to the person who makes the post. Even if the server runs Windows, nilsjohan probably has it rather well under control to be able to monitor intrusions and take appropriate actions. I know there is something fishy whenever somebody here claims: "I have traced your posts; I know where you live."

Ok I put my hands up to it. Yes, this is Pocorina, I had to change my address because somebody banned me, because I had violated something or other. Feel free to trace my posts; you'll find that ciao_xx_bella is telling the truth.

I am annoyed that several of you are spelling my name wrong. Please ammend this. Plus I would like to know exactly why I have been banned as i fail to see why that was strictly necessary.

ciao_xx_bella, I always suspected you'd rat on me. I knew you'd only play along for a while. I just wasn't SURE. I'll get you back. I might delete your account or something.

The forum agreement starts:
"You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive" etc...

Are you saying you fail to see why you are banned???
Have you "forgotten" that pocorina and chiao_xx_bella are both your own accounts? Do you think your behavour is in line with the forum agreement and are fair to other members?

Also, would you please be kind and respect the ban?
If you have any comments they are welcome at webmaster@pianoforum.net.

well... i'm after reading over the first part of this thread last night then reading the rest today I for one am glad she's not terribly ill with TB.  The thought of anyone having that was horrible.  However, people in the world do, so we should still remember people in suffering, perhaps not quite so dramatically as this story, but still, it is terrible.

Its still not really that fair on the others who expended their time and emotions on this hoax and i'm surprised she's questioned why she was banned ::) That's just the way of the world these days seemingly

actually looking closer, the figure on poco's computer: the right eye is looking towards the left

richard gere pic: he's looking towards the front.

ALSO

looking at the scrollbar, you can tell that that is the actual size of the picture. So, hardly the pic that rob is referring to :D unless she edited it BUT

ALSO

look under the noses. One has a visible nostril. The other doesn't.

So there :D:P

Other Points to note:

Her Paint toolbar is on the right... why? That would suggest a level of proficiency in graphic design... but why paint? like.. eww get photoshop :D

Start Bar: Left to Right
Internet Explorer - The Chopin Files (i think)
Windows Media Player
MSN Messenger - Name blurry
MSPaint - Filename blurry

i dont think she realised the real impact this would have on the community...
