I really like his Chopin 10/4 which was actually the first recording of the piece that I'd heard. The tempo is just right and the articulation is great, I think I remember him saying he modelled it on Horowitz (?). His scarlatti B minor sonata is one of my most frequently listened to tracks but I find the tempo a bit too fast (the only other version i've heard is ABM on dvd).
He is also a really nice guy  ;D

the only thing i heard ( watched ) was his short appearance playing bits and pieces on video, posted here in pf. no doubt, he's got great facility. what struck me the most was his voicing. it was examplary! first class! we heard great textural balance, and ear-opening transparency. best, tds

koji

Haha! Yeah sure!

I must have listened to about 100 recordings (and you have been helpful several times for when I needed advice) of you Koji and you are indeed a great piano player. But what I like most is that you are not scared for playing music with not so famous composers. Your repertoire are by far more interesting than most "commercial pianists" of today who hardly playing anything but with Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, Mozart, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Schubert and Schumann.
I hardly go to piano concerts at all because of the lack of variation of professionals today. Though I understand that they are forced to play famous pieces as the listeners of today lack knowledge of piano music. I get frustrated when I overhear conversations going on around me.

So, extra credits for being a experimental (but for your technical abilities and music interpretations).

If I was serious, I wouldn't have paid a lot of attention to this forum over the years...

Initially, I wanted to imitate tibidi and scold "Thracozaag" for bashing "Koji" ;D ;D, but then I had to do some serious work and ran out of time ;)

Koji Atwood is the devil

Once I saw him play a concert - then after I went backstage, and there I saw him - standing amid the fire and brimstone - tail and hooves exposed - and it was then that I realized that I was standing in front of the Prince of Darkness himself!

He mumbled something about Horowitz, and then I just left...

i haven't been able to listen yet to the recordings on pf, but whenever koji plays at recital in philly and tells me where he's playing, i'll be there.  he has consistently given great advice and from what people are saying, he must be taking his own advice (and of course - the great teachers he's studied from).  i enjoyed reading his interview on one of these threads - attwood (oops, misspelled it the first time) being the most famous pupil of mozart and now knowing he's related to koji (yes! this makes life more interesting).  (i will now search my geneology - but unfortunately, i don't think i'm related to any pianists.  pfooey).
