Oriental Flower and An Ancient Tale, are pieces in the RCM grade six books!  Are you sure you are a beginner?

When I learned, I started with the Michael Aaron level one book (it's blue).  Even though they were kind of dumb songs for an eighteen year old it worked out really good.  Mind you, I quickly finished the book and got into some "real" music as fast as possible.  Think of it as motivation--"The faster I'm done this book, the faster I can play songs that aren't called "the swing!"

Yes it is that book.  And here is a good sight for you www.free-sheet-music.us
Click on piano sheet music in the left hand column.  The miniture melodies (38 easy pieces), would be where I'd start.

Not to insult you, but I honestly don't know if you even know a "c" from a "d" if you don't, then I'd definitely go with the Michael Aaron book.  The first 8 pieces are real easy, and then it starts to put hands together real slowly.  Oh, definitely get the book anyway, it's just really good, and for 2 bucks you can't go wrong!

I don't get your last sentence.  What are you asking about?  H and S? :-\

As an after thought, (though many would object), I found Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge (treble clef lines), FACE (treble clef spaces), All Cows Eat Grass (bass clef spaces), and Go Back Down For Another (bass clef lines), the best way to learn the notes.  Sometimes I would make myself say the note names as I played to help ingrain them in my memory.

I don't know if you're into theory, but there's a series of thin books by Fletcher that start you off drawing notes, naming them, ect. that really helped me.  If you're planning to play long term, and are serious, then a bit more expensive, but thicker book is keyboard theory preliminary level (blue)book by Grace Vandendool.  It's the same idea, but designed more for the teenage/adult beginner.  No cartoon pictures and such :D.  This is about $11.00 U.S.  At least I'm guessing that's where you live.

Sorry!  You said free, so I took you literally.  Hey, I don't even know if you're ten and live off an allowance!  Misunderstanding ;)

Other books, well, that depends on how fast you're planning on advancing!  If you're into scales and the like, "The Brown Scale Book" published by Frederick Harris Music has them all in it.  It's a little overwhelming at once though.  There is a series of books by the same company that breaks it up.  The first is orange and called book 1, Technical Requirements for piano

A REALLY good book for learning notes by the same pubisher again is book 1, Four Star sight reading and ear tests, daily exercises for piano students, by Boris Berlin. It's orange, too.  It's really good if you're teaching yourself.  It has a 3 minute exercise for each day, with 4 bars of music where you name the notes and a rhythm to clap.  I'd definitely get this one, if I were you.

The book I'd get after the Michael Aaron book would be the introductory album from the New Piano Series (same publisher as others).  It depends on how much you want to purchase up front.  Hope this helps!

Cool, I'd go with the Michael Aaron and the Four Star sight reading book 1.  You sister will probably have some scale books by the time you need them.  Nice to meet you ;D

Misspelling, I think, should be "The coarse language ..."
Yea that puzzled me for a while too, until I noted the asterisks.  ;)
