(Concert) Tempo Piano Trio -- Madrid 29, April
on: April 24, 2005, 02:07:14 PM
I think it would be great if people started announcing their concert engagements here, so that we could all hear each other when possible. And, I think it would also be great to have a board specially for that purpose.... also for announcing free tickets to a big piano concert, or must see concerts in different cities.

So... I guess I'll start this out, and hope it becomes more common practice (I'd love to see people post their recitals, people in the same city would be happy to go!)... even if it is some really small school recital or a big concert in a big hall. Don't be shy!

Madrid, April 29. Centro Cultural Galileo

My piano trio from school basically.

Program:

Turina Circulo
Haydn H. 28
Arensky D minor

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE PEOPLE POST THEIR CONCERT ENGAGEMENTS (I WOULD DEFINATELY GO), AND EVEN MORE TO SEE PEOPLES REPORTS ON HOW THE CONCERT WENT.

Im going to start doing this, even if Im not playing so much in public at the moment.... 1-2 concerts a month is my average right now.

Hi.... I just came back from the concert, Im sitting at the school computer eating the cold dinner they gave us (a couple of sandwiches and an apple).

The concert was not bad. Most of the audience was made up of old ladies, though some officials from the school were there. The hall was extremely dry, and ate up the strings, but the piano was a Kawai with nice sound, and a keyboard that was a bit hard.

The Haydn was ok, although my violinist was a bit lost. The Turina was also pretty nice, although we botched up the transition from second to third movement.

After the break we came out and played Arensky.... whoooooooooooooo boy. The first movement was NOT good. My violinist was getting shaky (he has a bit of a problem with that), and I was playing wrong notes everywhere!.... even so, the first movement was incredible when compared to the second... ugh. Anyone who knows this trio will tell you that that second movement is more like a stupid piano concerto. I didnt play any of the scale passages right. Whats more, between movements I was sweating A LOT, and I cleaned my glasses on my shirt. My hands got some of the sweat from the glasses, so in the movement where you have to be precise and fast, my hands were slipping and I was slow and clumsy! And my violinist really started to have fun, while I was suffering, so he started doing really funny glissandos and pauses and such (its a funny movement!).... but at least we made it to the end!

then.... the third movement. It was INCREDIBLE. We played very well, although our violinist got the shakes once again :) I loved how the middle section came out. The fourth movement was also very good, although I made a big mistake very near the begining, and they were playing alone for a full measure!, in the fortissimo :(  (Clearly we are not proffesional yet, although we are trying!) the rest of the movement though, was not bad.

I think our trio has a lot of future, and we are really well connected, although weve only played together for about 6 months.

That all! Ill post my next concert soon, hope some of you can come, if youre around here.

:)
