When I am playing now I am trying to keep my wrist/arm loose, but I do frequently get a burning sensation on the the bottom of my forearm, midway to elbow, pinky side.  Does this mean I'm doing something wrong?  Or could it just be the irritation from my many previous bad habits (esp with regard to laptop and mouse) - i.e,  the past injury is just stressed by my current movements even those those movements wouldn't create the injury?  Should I quit playing/computing with any pain?  (I have a ton of piano books around now that I can be reading, and can't do NO computing.)

Thanks for any advice.

Karen

You must be playing Fuer Elise and practicing the E-D# a lot ;)

Well, sounds like muscular problems. Most of those are due to co-contraction. Search the forum with this term, and you could find the answer to your problem. Try to get rid of co-contraction in whatever you are doing throughout the day (well, it's not always harmful, and sometimes, it's actually the right thing to do, but as a general rule, avoid it.)

Now, this sounds more like tendon/joint problems. Without you supplying more info, it's difficult to say more about it, though. When does it occur? What is your hand position, e.g. ulnar deviation, radial deviation (browse the web for those terms if necessary)? Do you have tension across the hand, e.g. when playing chords? Just a few ideas to get you started.
