Song/Book recommendations?
on: April 27, 2005, 10:34:50 AM
I'm a level seven/eight RCM and I'm looking to do some pieces that aren't in the book over the summer. (Not with my teacher, but being careful and really listening to myself objectively). Does anybody have any suggestions as to what is accesible at this level? Any help is appreciated. I like the late classical/romantic period if that's any help.

Excuse me but i'm not sure what your asking. Do you want reccomendations on music to play throughout the summer? Can this be any genre, style etc?

If so than you have asked a very general question.

Music to work on over the summer, yes.
I don't see it being a general question because I
A) Used the search function and
B) Specified which type of repertoire I enjoy.

Just a reminder, Prophetic, that RCM grade 7/8 is roughly equivalent to ABRSM grade 5...so if a piece is marked grade 8 ABRSM, it may be more challenging than you expect!

The total beginner pieces make me feel weird  :-X This is my fifth year playing. Thanks for the extra suggestion however, [forget your username]  :-\ Thanks for the extra time Bernhard. PS: Not complete beginner, but that's about what I can sight read right now. Or what appears in my lesson books right now anyway.
