Andre Previn - Piano Concerto
on: May 01, 2005, 09:20:56 PM
Does anyone know what happened to Andre Previn's Piano Concerto?  I attended the first London performance of it, many years ago, with Ashkenazy as soloist, I have the score and also a home-made video of the first performance as it was being  televised at the same time.  Since then I've never heard it performed again and as far as I know it's never been officially recorded on CD.  Personally I felt that it is an excellent concerto, and certainly one of the best 20th century piano concerti which I've heard.  Does anyone know what happened to it?

Regards,

Gregory

I have a recording of Ashkenazy playing it under Previn.  Yeah, it's an awesome concerto.
