sznitseln: I tried your meditation suggestion today.
on: May 03, 2005, 04:04:20 PM
I was reading the thread "How to make things automatic" and I saw your suggestion about yoga/meditation/thinking positive thoughts while practicing. I thought,
Yeah, right! Will that really make any difference?
Well, I tried it this morning - I'm playing one of Mozart's sonatas for two pianos (the one in D) and I've been having trouble with mm. 54-55 in the first movement. Sometimes they came out correctly, and sometimes they just didn't. So this morning I thought, I CAN play this! The whole positive mental attitude thing. And it worked!!! Actually, the whole sonata went better than it usually does - more accurate, and fewer stupid mistakes. Thanks for reminding me of the power of positive thinking.
