Concert from our school
on: May 04, 2005, 12:06:16 AM
Our music classes had a concert tonight in the philharmonics. Here are two recordings from the concert:

I was playing on a few pieces, one of them was Ravels "Toccata" which I've been preparing for a few weeks. Unfortenately, the toccata didn't get recorded, but perhaps someone else also did a recording, and if so, I'll post it. The two recordings I posted are:
Karl Vento, a friend in my class own composition. We had to cut out several parts because we actually didn't have time to practice enough before the concert, but I don't think it hurt the "construction" of the piece too much. I had to "make" an ending too, because Karl wasn't completely finished and didn't have an end for the piece. So I just played something similar to the beginning in the last measures, and ended it there.
I did many mistakes, especially in the fast middle-section, and the others also did some mistakes... so Karl wasn't too happy with how it went. But I still think that you can hear how he wanted to have the music, and you can hear that it's very well written and though out.
The other uploaded piece is Stenhammar's "Vårnatt" for choir and piano. The recording didn't get the first measures of piano introduction.
Enjoy!
