Is anybody here interested in science?
on: May 21, 2003, 11:42:39 PM
My friend just made a board for science, there are different forums for different sciences, and a board for politics and a general discussions board.

He and I are the only members for now, but the board is brand new and we plan to advertise it.

Yup, I am a science major and still am a big fan of chemistry and meteorology (science of the weather).

Chemistry is ok, but it means nothing, in my opinion, without physics - the bigger science - chemists and physicists often argue about that... hehe  ;D

I am very interested in the scientific method and in the philosophy of science.  :D

I have no interest at all in Science as an institution, which has lost its way and is guided by politics and the “publish or perish” mentality.  >:(
The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. (Hunter Thompson)

Oh, by the way I have a links page on meteorology and weather-related links. You will see lots of gibberish code on that page if you don't have Chinese-compatible browser. Just ignore them and use the English links:
https://home.hkstar.com/~pchk/meteorology.html
Enjoy the links, if you're also a weather fan!:)
I am particularly fascinated by tropical cyclones - typhoons (hurricanes, as they call them in the USA).

Uuh, this topic was started in 2003 and that forum is pretty dead...

Lol, I saw Ayahav post there too. I saw some people thinking wrong things, I just had to reply. Too bad they won't read it...
