How do you include an image?
on: May 06, 2005, 09:36:33 PM
Could someone please explain how one can include an image with one's post?
There is a button on the message display that says "insert image." It includes a code that's apparently needed to insert an image.
After one pops up this code, how does one get the image to appear? I have the image in a different folder on my hard drive.
Do you drag and drop or something? Will a JPG work?
Thanks--

Yes, you need an URL (the code you are talking about) to insert in the “insert image” command. That is how you go about it.
1. Register yourself in a image-host site (e.g. photobucket.com or tinypicture.com – there are others, these two are free)
2. Transfer your picture (JPG file) to this site (follow the instruction in the site).
3. Once your picture is in the image-host site, you will have an URL for it.
4. Use this URL in the “insert image” command – which should be suitable placed in your post.
5. Click preview before posting to check if the image is there.
Best wishes,
Bernhard.
