lol, dazzer!  Usually a couple of references from musicians in standing, and a CV including performance experience - the more impressive the better!  Apart from that, yeah...repertoire!

Your answers aren't what I was looking for. Maybe I wasn't clear.
Do you think that the pianists need to have some new ideas, personal ideas before participating in an international piano competition?
Can you go, and show only what your teachers have told/taught you? Of course, international competitions can be very different one from another... then you could speak about the requirementes of a specific piano competition.

Jury panels always say they look for flare and origionality. Then knock out everyone who has it in the first round and plump for the ones who they know are safe and acceptable. Of course i generalise but it is remarkable how often this is the case!
