Bubonic Plague...
on: May 09, 2005, 08:28:19 AM
I regret to type this, but my doctor has just informed me I have contracted Bubonic Plague, aka the Black Death.  I'm still waiting on my Smallpox and Ebola tests.

Fortunately, my family just won the lottery last week, so we will be using the money to seek treatment at the best medical facilites, notably, the Bubonic Hospital in the heart of Iceland.

If only I hadn't eaten that rat sandwich!

rat sandwich?  you don't have to go to that extreme!  try taco be**, or dunken don****.   i get black death symptoms every time i try to eat at those places.  of course, right near wcu there is a restaurant called 'the rat hole.'  i've wondered what they serve there.  people go in, but i never see anyone come out.

have you ever been at a fast food window and the person goes around the corner to fix your food and you never actually see the process of what they did.  what if they spit in it?  how would you know?  the only thing you can prove nowdays is if you actually have a piece of someone's finger in your food.

do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

Please do keep us posted, and don't forget to share your *all*  details of your romantic dalliances with  the cute patients the facility, real or imagined.  Oh, and please *don't* spare any details as to your current state of dress (or undress :o) and hair color.  Oh, almost forgot - and let us know how your treatment progresses.

Yes, and don't spare the gory details, either.  We want to hear about how you awakened after your ebola difficulties because you had barfed up a lung.

OK, I shouldn't laugh... but it is pretty ridiculous.  :P

Hmmm.... Black Death?.... That must suck.

Um.... Here.  I made you a card.    ( ;D)

Inside of card...

"Dear Nightscape128,
Got the Black Plague, huh?  That sucks!
Hope you like this card.  Here's a crisp one dollar bill for you.
Get well soon.
Bob

PS -- You've always been a great friend.  I'm happy I have known you during this time of need.
PSS -- You haven't willed that piano to anyone yet, have you?  I happen to be "sans piano" right now.  That sure would be a nice way remember you, having that piano to remind me of you.  Get well soon, but if you start feeling really bad let me know right away, ok?"

(This card sure cheered me up! :) )

what about 'hopes all things, believes all things.'  i suppose this passage may belong on the thread about thieves.  if you believe the best in people, you sometimes get suckered.  if you believe the worst, you don't trust anyone.  therefore, no one gets a helping hand.

i'd rather be the one to suffer (within reason).  and, i think that if people really want honesty in our world - they have to start with their own children.  when they lift bubble gum - to return it (even tho it is a small item).  my three year old did this the other day.  i get home, and she pulls it out of her pocket.  i tell her, 'if you asked mommy, i would buy it - but that was stealing.  stealing is bad because it is taking something that isn't yours.'  ok. i can see everyone rolling their eyes - but when you have children  you'll se that the primary years are really where you develop decent people (who have a conscience).

i had a good friend who suffered from this plague...she got it when she accidentally ate a dead horse...she was a great girl...i think her name was Pohkohreenuh..an odd name..she was half chinese and half french...her case was so severe..she had to be clinically stationed at a private secluded government owned secret lair in Switzerland...but she still had internet access which was cool this way i could keep in touch with her..she updated me on a regular basis on how she was doing..theygave her loads amount of unnecessary motrin...but the upside to the story..she fell in love witha fellow Plaguer (clinic slang for a fellow patient)..his name was Vikrizzle from what i remember...she told me they held feet while they walked around and played checkers...she was a good girl...she'll always be remembered....she eventually died due toa  nervous breakdown and an identity crisis..

LOL, Husky!

Aw, Pianonut, you're a good Joe (or Josephina).  It's lovely to see the best in people.  I certainly try to live by that dictum, as well.  But, a healthy dose of sketicism is not a bad thing.  I've raised 2 1/2 kids (yes, one is still half-baked), and they're all (even the halfer) pretty darned honest.  But, they are also appropriately (IMO) distrustful of strangers.  Most people are good and honest, but they are an awful lot of cons and worse out there.  I hate to see people taken and had.

Your best bet is to read the last page of the TB thread.
