I hv posted on the topic Viennbach before, there i mentioned i was considering to buy an up-right 47'' which will cost me $3500 CND.

The problem is that i hv never heard of the name Viennbach before, my retailer told me it  is made in Russia. I did some research over the internet but were not able to find anything about Viennbach, neither there is anything about russian made painos. Does Russia make pianos nowadays?? Is it some chinese made paino with a Russian name on it or......?

However i like the quality of the sound of this piano, and i think its better than most of the Yamaha the same price could offer. The only problem is that the keys are easily scratched(i am renting it for almost a year now), though the shop agrees to provide free polish upon purchase.

Does anyone know about Viennbach or any russian made painos? my retailer told me that i hvnt heard about it becoz this maker dont advertise much as those well-known Yamaha and Kawai.

Thz in advance for helping.

That is the spelling, I assume ? There is a piano called a Weinbach - I've had one for thirty-four years. If we're talking about the same thing they're lovely pianos, especially the grands - very warm tone. I think, somebody correct me if I am wrong, that they are, or at least were, actually made by Petrof.

Again, if you do mean Weinbach, then I can personally attest to the quality of mine. I have just had a completely new action put in last month and it has come up really well. I bought it new in 1971 and it stood very heavy regular playing for thirty-four years. I could have bought a new piano but chose to rebuild. The only general complaint about them is that their touch is very heavy. This does not worry me because I like a solid touch. Aside from this I haven't heard anything bad about them from anybody.

I have sent you a photo of it by email.

If indeed we're talking about "Weinbach"... it is a brand now built by Petrof, a Czech piano company.
