Referral fees?
on: June 02, 2003, 10:38:49 PM
Hi everybody! I have a question about referral fee; heard on the HalLeonard newsletter that teacher who referred his/her student to the store to buy piano usually gets the referral fee (kind of bonus from the retailer) in case of successful purchase. Anybody can share opinions about that? I just referred my 2 students' parent and she is about to buy nice grand piano... Anybody here received bonuses from retailers in the past?

I work at a retail piano store and I can confirm this. However- you need to contact the piano store and let them know you have a student coming in. The fee will vary depending on what they purchase. usually 25$ for a cheap upright, up to $100 on  a grand, Up to $500 on steinway etc. Hope this helps

Thanks for your message. I called to the retailer, spoke to the rep, of course he didn't know much about that, just took my phone number and promised to call back...
Anyway, now I know more than in the beginning, maybe it will turn to be good.
