Ritmuller
on: May 20, 2005, 04:02:50 PM
Just a short one here...Please comment...

The Pearl River 4'7" piano's, one of which I had planned to purchase, including the three in the bigger store north of me have all been sold...at the sale price...I came in too late, but of course, can wait a while and still get one at the sale price when they are re-stocked...a month or so...

As a result the company owner has offered me the Ritmuller on the floor for the SAME PRICE as the Pearl River, that he is out of....It is listed $2000 more than the Pearl River units were on the tag.....He is an old friend, and says he is doing me a small favor at the least...

BUT arn't  they really the same piano? or am I getting an even better deal...(Both were ebony...) (I have to do this today or tomorrow so it goes into their figures as a sale item...)

My Thanks for any Comment,  John Cont

I don't know about the small Ritmuller grand, but the larger one I played recently was a wonderful sounding piano.  I would not have thought it was made in China.  In addition to a great full sounding, rich tone the action felt quite nice.  Also, little if anything had been done to the piano since it arrived according to the dealer who I know is top notch.  While this was only one example of a Ritmuller grand, based on my experience I certainly would include them on the top of my list if I were in the market for a lower cost grand.

Hi Rich,

Many thanks for your kind reply...The Ritmuller is a done thing...It was too good to pass, waiting for a bigger more expensive piano, which the two of us really don't have room for...

It will be del. Tomorrow, and I will be happy with it, I truly believe..

Best Regards, and again, Thanks!  John Cont

Just this note,

The Ritmuller I have is very good indeed....Don't like the metal music rack holder, but that is showing up on a lot of new pianos now...all other facts are fine indeed...

In VERY GOOD tune, even after its moving..that beats the yamaha of my sisters..it was out when it was installed ...pretty bad....must just be dependant on the weather and the instrument in question...

As said elsewhere,...one month later..(almost),

STILL love my Ritmuller...more every day...It is first class buy for the money, no doubt about it..(of course it is NOT a top of the line piano...but for the low price I paid....So far no probs...but we will see...

You did yourself a big favor by getting the 5'1" Ritmuller, rather than the 4'7" Pearl River.

Continue to enjoy!

Question:

With the change of how the Chinese currency will be valued and used, which seems to suggest an increase in the prices of Chinese goods in America?

Will it bring an increase in the price of a Piano made in China?

I think the pearl river 4'7 is one of the worst pianos i have ever played.

My store has te ritmuller as well, and I liked it more.

You are very lucky. You got an entry-level grand at a bargain basement price. Go hug yuor friend at the music store!! :-*

Indeed!!! I agree, and Thanks!,

In fact, I had a new and highly qual. man (guild), look just this past week, and he was most pleased, suggesting only for now, that he tune it...(The store tech was a Tad off...I may let him as I LOVE perfection in as much as possible...)

I can touch up the probs...(In the bass...I suspect the store tech could not either "read" or hear it good enough...I noticed after he finished the tuning...)....But as it is a NEW instrument, I would prefer an expert do it..so I am going to just let him do it next week I think...(He had too little time when he stopped by this week...)

I will state, while not at the level of many here, I am old and experienced in general, and I really like this piano, in particular for the price... :)

Regards,  John
