The Kawai's that I've tried seem to have a boomy bass range. However I haven't tried any newer models, so this may not apply.
Roland: On the ones I've tried, they just seem too bright. Sort of the piano sound you get in pop music.
Yamaha: I keep coming back to them if I ever need to play a digital. Great sound, on every one I've tried. It's supposed to be sampled from the CFIIIS concert grand.
