pieces by carl Czerny?
on: May 24, 2005, 06:23:49 PM
Who can help me out with this?

My trio (clarinet, cello and piano) is supposed to play a concert as a tribute to Beethoven. We built a program including Rota (neo- classical), Gorecki (quoting Beethoven's fouth piano concerto) and Beethoven trio (of course).

In between the Rota and the Gorecki, I want to play a piano solo piece by Carl Czerny, beeing a Beethoven student. Who has any suggestions here? Please no etudes :o

Thank you!

He wrote a Toccata (Opus 92 I think).  You could check that out and see what you think.

You might want to check out the Variations on a theme by Rode 'La Ricordanza'.  This is the one Horowitz played.

Superb idea. I have recently learnt the variations brilliante Op14. Definately worth a look.
