Dying whilst playing Funeral March
on: May 26, 2005, 07:44:11 PM
So here's the story. My grandad had a friend who was playing a funeral march, actually AT a funeral, and suddenly, without warning, he dropped dead!!!

How timely...

They weren't sure why, but probably a heart attack.  :o

Wow, that's creepy :o. It's kind of like a story I once heard about a preacher who was at the climax of a fire and brimstone sermon. He said,"YOU COULD DROP DEAD RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE!!!", and then he did just that.

you get up and dance on the piano and then die.  i really don't know since i haven't played it.

playing for my grandmother's funeral, i started crying midway - slowed way down - and almost mentally decided i didn't want to quit playing because if i quit it would mean our goodbye was over (actually mentally went through the whole scenario).  then i thought about all the poor people that would have to listen to music getting slower and slower and repeat so much - and decided that it would be better to 'fade out' and stop.
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

Kapell's last piece he ever played was the Funeral March sonata (eerie, sad and ironic all at the same time).

My piano teacher tells me that if ever she would be dying, she wants to die listening to me playing Chopin's 1st Ballade.  (I can imagine it already that's why everytime I practice it, I already cry.)  I just hope if ever that would happen, she let me finish the Presto con fuoco before she pass.
