Hello all!
on: May 28, 2005, 04:01:45 AM
Hello!  I'm glad I finally found a piano forum!  I am a 16 year-old upcoming senior in high school and have been playing piano since the 3rd grade.  I have accompanied our high school choir for 3 years and have been full-time pianist at a Southern Baptist church for 2 years.  I am not as classically advanced as I would like to be but I'm working on it lol.  I enjoy the music of Billy Joel and Elton John as my piano influences; my other musical influences include Bruce Springsteen, Chicago, the Eagles, Styx, Journey, U2, and other various classic rock bands.  This spring I accompanied our school's version of Disney's musical "Beauty and the Beast."  That was an unforgettable experience!   Piano is my favorite hobby and I am glad to have found this forum.

Welcome!   I'm a year ahead of you...graduating from high school today, about to turn 18.  Just found the forum, too, and it's great so far.  I, however, have the great disadvantage of never really accompanying anything or playing publicly; I played at a nursing home once though!  And a school talent show....actually, just remembering that I played at school masses freshman year...nevermind.

By the way, any chance you like Chopin?  Chopin=Amazing.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31. Piano Street’s members are invited to watch the livestream. Read more
