Hey, I want to play a piece, with a nice glissando in it,
can you give me some suggestions?

How long are these pieces?

Hi,

for example: Skrjabin: some Preludes op. 11

and now I'm working on Rachmaninoff op. 23 Nr. 5 (g - minor)
I think this Prelude is the hardest piece I played (play)

The 1st Mephisto Waltz (Liszt) has a nice glissando in it...also, Ravel's Alborado del Gracioso (sp?) has a multitude of glissandi (some in thirds!).

Debussy - Suite pour le piano (Prelude) has lots of glissandos, and is not extremely difficult.

gershwin's 'rhapsody in blue.'
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

Liszt's 10th Hungarian Rhapsody is a universal glissando-introduction piece. Or if you want you can do a few Cziffra transcriptions....THAT'LL make ya learn insane octave and black-key glissandi combinations quickly!

Incidentally, there is also a very short piece called "Glissando Mazurka" by Lecuona I believe. I have the score if you want it. It looks like a fun and effective piece with tons of glissandi.

Do you really want to buy it??

Anway, Alborada most def. and I'll be the first (surprisingly) to mention the third movement of Beethoven's Waldstein.

A pretty interesting piece which you should be able to see the sheets for if you join gamingforce:

Lecuona's Mazurka Glissando.

https://www.gamingforce.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48704

pretty short though, only 3 pages but with about 18 gliss movements.

Alexina Louie - I leap through the sky with stars.

About 3 glissandi.  2 of them you have freedom to choose the boundaries.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

Fantasie Espagnole by Sorabji has some fun glissandi, not exactly an easy piece though.

An easier piece with glissandi in it is a short Prokofiev piece. It's called Prelude, with the subtitle "Harp", Op. 12 No. 7.

Ravel's Jeux d'Eau also has some on the black keys, but that's much harder.

Ravel's "La Valse" -- I believe there's a piano solo version (it was written for 2 pianos and orchestrated about the same time, I believe, then a piano solo version later).  Many glissandos toward the end as I recall.  Devilishly difficult piece.

I find black key glissandos easier than white key, I don't know why, I just get a much better sound of black key glis.
