Hungarian Rhapsody editions
on: June 11, 2005, 05:51:20 AM
Can anyone tell me why Urtext doesn't have a copy of the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies.  Also what is the best edition to get for the music?

Thanks

Urtext - They are in the process or having several of them engraved, id est, 2, 6, 9, 12, 14, 15, and the Espagnole.

Dover has an edition for $12.95USD complete 19 Rhapsodies.

I think Editio Musica Budapest is the best for Liszt.

It's also stupidly expensive. :)

Urtext isn't a company. I suppose you mean why there isn't an urtext edition. My guess is that somebody's holding all the manuscripts to themselves.
