price for recital
on: June 13, 2005, 12:25:51 PM
If you were a pianist on my level. (that means pretty good, but nothing fancy, definately not up there with paul or koji) what would you charge for a recital? Just to make things easier. what about the recital I am learning right now.

Beethoven: pastoral sonata
CHopin raindrop
CHopin first waltz in Eb
Shostakovich prelude op. 34 no. 14
Shostakovich prelude and fugue op. 87 no. 15

what would you charge?

just put a donation can in the back and let people pay what they want.  you'll get more people that come back, and noone will feel put out.  if they like what you play, they'll go back and put more in (hopefully).  make sure and tell them what you are planning to do with the money, too.  that always helps!
do you know why benches fall apart?  it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them.  hint:  buy a bench that does not hinge.  buy it for sturdiness.

next you should be wondering how much you should spend to pay for the recital.

my idea is this though. Contact all of these little schools around here. Tell them that I would like to perform that recital or what not and offer and next to nothing price 50 bucks maybe 100. Then see if someone bites. what do you think?
