formula's
on: June 18, 2005, 07:33:22 PM
I that formulas were used as help to compose music before 1900 and read about "mathematically correct".
However I have no idea what one of these formulas would be.
Does anyone have one? What does it mean?

if you read gradus ad parnassum, you'll see that formulas are no different than rules set out that build upon one another. it is quite interesting to read fux because it lays the groundwork for verbally explaining what composer's used to do in composition.

do you know why benches fall apart? it is because they have lids with little tiny hinges so you can store music inside them. hint: buy a bench that does not hinge. buy it for sturdiness.
