xx Bach P&F d minor (BK II), some Shostakovich Preludes Op. 34 & Chopin Etude 25-8

I love these Shostakovich Preludes, and I've had a good success performing them this year. They are very effective.

At any rate, I won't play these pieces in public again any time soon, so here are the recordings.

Some things I'm disappointed with:
Tempo issues
Consistency of touch
Consistency of mordents in the prelude
Overall dynamic contrast/direction in some sections

Recorded using a Snowball microphone on setting #1

Hey, I find bach quite difficult to play well, but here is an attempt. Thanks for listening.

xx Bach: Prelude and Fugue, in D-minor from DWK 2 (new improved version)

This is quite funny, because when I listened to the recording that I posted here a few weeks back, I thought it was absolutely terrible. My interpretation has changed considerably now.....

I think the Prelude is more secure this time, don't you think?
I know the Fugue needs much more work.........so I will post it along with my whole program in April.

I just learned this, and I will have to play it in April. Just a first shot, possibly not nearly where it should be. I would appreciate any feedback at all.

xx Bach Prelude and Fugue In Dminor Bk 2

This is my favorite prelude and fugue set. I haven't played this for months, but I figured I ought to record before I totally lose it. The Prelude gets a little sloppy, there's one really noticeable error, and the fugue is pretty good, it's just not where it used to be. Lol. Enjoy anyways.

"I was in Poland the past summer to give 2 concerts. At the last minute they requested some Chopin, which I had not brought with me. So, I google-searched for classical downloads and found your site. I was able to print out excellent editions of the pieces I needed within minutes. To find the scores locally would have been inpossible as it was a smaller town, the nearest music store 45 minutes away."

"Piano Street has been a wonderful tool to me as both a pianist and a piano teacher. I can browse the collection for pieces I want to play and/or have my students play. The difficulty rating system that Piano Street uses enables me to search by difficulty level for pieces at my students' various playing levels. It is helpful that many of the scores include an audio clip of the piece being played. I have recommended to my advanced students that they also join Piano Street since getting sheet music from there is a much less expensive alternative to ordering and paying for the music.
